Gridbots TrolleyMATIK is a heavy-duty indoor autonomous mobile robot built for automatic trolley transportation across manufacturing and warehouse floors. Part of the Autobot Series, it uses a 3D-Vision and Lidar based hybrid guidance system to navigate inside facilities with high precision in a completely autonomous manner.
This industrial-grade trolley transporter carries trolleys of various sizes with payloads ranging from approximately 1 tonne to 10 tonnes. It latches to a trolley from underneath, lifts it clear of the floor, moves it to the destination, and releases it — all without operator intervention.
The defining capability of TrolleyMATIK is fully automatic latching and delatching. Using 3D-camera based trolley localization and safe-align technology, the robot precisely positions itself under the target trolley, engages its lifting/latching mechanism to pick it up, and automatically disengages to drop the trolley at the drop-off point. This removes the need for manual hooking, coupling or forklift handling.
TrolleyMATIK features a fully automatic guidance system with dynamic obstacle avoidance, minimum turning radius, automatic battery charging, self-aware system health monitoring, and a fleet management system for multi-AMR operation.
