The Gridbots Stinger PIPEMATIK is a compact, fully IP68-rated in-pipe operation and inspection robot built for live pipelines from 150 mm inner diameter and upward, including bends. Rather than being a single-purpose crawler, it is a configurable platform: it carries interchangeable tool heads of up to 5 kg and supplies up to 24 V of regulated power to the mounted payload, so the same robot can inspect, clear obstructions, sample and operate inside the line on one deployment.
At the front sits a pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) UHD camera paired with a belly-mounted UHD camera and integrated LED lighting, giving full coverage of the pipe wall, invert and crown. An on-board AI engine interprets this feed in real time, automatically flagging blockages, foreign material and deposits or scaling as the robot advances. Every detection is mirrored live on the controller, so inspection and interpretation happen together instead of in a separate review pass.
The robot moves on powered, servo-driven wheels with 0.1 mm encoder resolution, giving precise, repeatable positioning and accurate distance logging for every finding. It travels along a tethered umbilical of up to 100 m (extendable on request), reinforced with a steel rope for safe recovery, and handles both horizontal and vertical runs.
Constructed from SS-316 and sealed to IP68, the Stinger PIPEMATIK operates fully submerged and withstands wet, corrosive and hazardous environments — making it suited to water and sewer mains, process and effluent lines, oil & gas pipelines, and other confined industrial conduits where sending in personnel is unsafe or impractical.
One platform covers everything from tight service lines to large-bore mains — from a 150 mm minimum diameter and up, negotiating bends along the way.
The controller drives the robot through an HDMI graphical interface, putting live twin-camera video, encoder distance and pipe-condition data on a single screen.
The same AI analysis that runs on-board is mirrored on the controller — blockages and foreign material are highlighted on the operator’s display as they are detected, keeping inspection and decision-making in one place.
Fully IP68 — submersible operation
PTZ UHD camera + belly camera
On-board AI: blockage & foreign-material detection
Pipes 150 mm Ø and above, bends supported
Payload up to 5 kg
Up to 24 V power to the tool head
Servo-driven powered wheels
Tethered umbilical up to 100 m
The PTZ UHD camera feeds an on-board AI engine that interprets the pipe interior in real time. Detections are flagged on the robot and streamed live to the controller — no separate review pass needed.
